The other day I stumbled across some old photos from Ravenswood Raceway that Ray Treasure had on his old web page. I thought a before and after comparison of a few vehicles might be a neat thing.

I'm sure Ray won't mind me using the pics. :)

Apologies if the site gets a little messed up due to the picture size.

1) Gavin Carlini's Honda had a reputation for big burnouts and it continues with Rob Green. We think this is the same bike, there are three bikes at the Motorplex with the same body now!

2) The Catalano Family charger used to be all NOS'ed up but is now running in Supercharged Outlaws. That same pink paint scheme is still there though...

3) Chuck Haynes used to drive Gravity Storm all the time but now he hands it over to Gary Miocevich to race when he comes to Australia. It still runs fairly similar times but gone is the early 90s trend of a spoon nose, popularised by Joe Amato in the US.

4) Brad Cruttenden had this Camira running in Super Stock but it is now in the hands of Joel Ward who campaigns it in Super Sedan. The Mopar-inspired paint and modern hood scoop certainly make the car a little more up to date.

5) Bill Curry never had much luck on his nitro-fuelled Kawasaki when he came to WA but Mark Drew managed to steer it to a 6.9 second time while he had it. Drew now rides an imported nitro Harley. This bike has a lot of history however, it was the first in Australia to run a 6sec. time way back in 1992.

6) Brett Glover's Datsun has always been rotary powered and has always done wheelstands. We love it in all guises but the mini-Doorslammer look is particularly neat.

7) Ah John Zappia. We have to say the after shot is quite impressive, the shaved look and stylish sunnies wipe off years. Although the porno-star mo was really something to behold.

8) And just to show some things stay the same, it's Errol Quartermaine. You could find a photo from 20 years ago and it would still look the same. It makes far too much horsepower for such a little car but it's just great. Don't ever change, Errol.
