Following the completion of the Perth Motorplex 2008/09 season, the Osborne Motors Racing team have shifted their focus to the large task of transporting the Serv Dragster across the country for the Castrol Edge Winternationals in June.
In what can only be described as a rollercoaster season, with a promising start to the local Modified championship, to the Serv Dragster suffering some component failures, before regaining some consistency in the final two meetings, Osborne Motors Racing is looking forward to competing in the largest drag racing event outside of North America. The final two meetings of the season presented the team with some friendly conditions which saw the Serv Dragster consistently qualified in the top half of the field; however two first round exits denied the team a successful end to the year. “I just look forward to every lap especially when the weather conditions are playing the game, it would have been nice to go a few rounds, but that’s racing,” remarked a positive team owner, Simon Lekias. Under no illusions as to the scale of the task at hand to go to the Winternationals and win rounds, the Osborne Motors Racing team is excited about the prospect of putting the Serv Dragster through its paces against what will be the biggest Modified field of the season. “We aren’t going all that way just to make up numbers, the biggest expectations of this team are held by me and while we are looking to enjoy some Queensland hospitality, we’re also hoping to be hanging around late on the Sunday,” said Simon. Osborne Motors Racing would like to thank Paul, Dave and Simon from the Serv Auto Group for their continued support throughout season 2008/09.
