Phil Lamattina made his comeback from a terrifying crash four months ago complete by taking out the fourth round of the Australian Top Fuel Championship at Perth Motorplex last night.
Lamattina defeated Darren Morgan in the final. Morgan's car had trouble with a supercharger in the pits and then the team was unable to fire for the final. Lamattina took the full run though, scorching to low ET with a 4.65 to close out the night. In the semi finals Lamattina knocked out rival Phil Read. Read smoked the tyres at half track and tried to pedal but couldn't get back at Lamattina who himself smoked the tyres through the top end. Morgan meanwhile used another PB with a 4.70 defeated local Martin Stamatis who also smoked the tyres at half track.
