As if there are not already numerous reasons for paying Traders Alley and the Turtle Wax ICE Elite Pavilion a visit during Motorvation 22 comes the late breaking news that Wicked Quick are not only joining the record number of Traders exhibiting at the event - but they are bringing the Wicked Quick Top Fuel Dragster to Perth for the very first time!

Team principle Darren Morgan explained that the opportunity to not only compete at the Australian Top Fuel Championship round at the Perth Motorplex on February 1 and 2 but also to attend next weekends Motorvation Street Machine and Custom Car show was too good to miss.

Darren MorganThe Wicked Quick Trade display and the Wicked Quick Top Fuel Dragster will be just inside the main entrance to the Turtle Wax ICE Elite pavilion giving the Motorvation spectators not only a unique opportunity to speak to Darren Morgan one on one and get up close and personal with one of the quickest Top Fuel Dragsters on the planet but also an opportunity to purchase some of the fantastic Wicked Quick merchandise.

Humidity in the 80s and high track temperatures during Saturday's Top Fuel Spectacular drew a huge and enthusiastic crowd to the south east Queensland facility. Their enthusiasm was not wasted on the Wicked Quick/Hi-Tec Oils team as their day progressed from two less than perfect runs in the morning qualifying sessions to a sensation first round match up with the B&L Steel car of Aaron Lynch.

Wicked Quick Top Fueler"We overpowered the race track again, man we have taken everything out of this car to calm it down and it is still making way too much power" enthused Darren Morgan on completion of his second qualifier.

After days of rain the Willowbank track suffered a delayed start to the event cramping the two day event into on huge Saturday program. The crowd loved it and by lunchtime the concession stands and grand stands were filled with cheering race goers.

The Wicked Quick/Hi-Tec Oils crew went into this event needing a "good pass" and that run came for them in the first round of eliminations. A stout 4.94 elapsed time cemented the DMR team as a real threat. "The car shook real hard at around the 1000 foot mark with enough force to bend the mounting plate on the parachutes. The pins that keep the chutes in were pulled out costing us the race against Aaron. The crowd loved it and I know we are moving in a positive direction with every race we complete. It is not just about being on track, we are racing in the pits, at the workshop and with our presentation. We came to Willowbank to race and the guys have proven that they are more than capable. You know what was great?, the car came back every pass clean, not many teams out there, inlcuding the US deals can say that. We hurt one piston and sleeve. That is a good feeling and kinda makes you go warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. A couple of guys h ave been with us for two races tops, and they can match it with the best, that's important and we need to keep that in perspective."

Crew Chief Col Beasley added "We head over to Perth in a couple of weeks, the track and air are generally fantastic, all the teams can step up there, there was only two four second passes this weekend and we ran one of them, that gives us a lot of confidence for the next round"

Darren went on to say "We are not burning parts up. With the engine having the extra load of the chutes being pulled out at full noise I expected the engine to be torn up, not the case, it was clean and only burnt one piston. We have been using Hi-Tec Oils now for three races and it is doing everything George said it would do"

"We have a few great developments taking place at the moment, we want everyone to be proud to be associated with our team, from the guys at Odyssey Batteries, PPG paints, My105.com, Domino's Pizza, CRC and all of our investors, this four is yours, we appreciate your support, we can only get stronger from here" concluded Darren.

The team now head to Western Australia for the Motorvation Street Machine event January 19/20 and then to the fifth round of the Top Fuel Series February 2/3. Both events are held at the Perth Motorplex, Kwinana WA.
