Well the main difference is that we have gone to a PHP/database style site which make it a lot easier for me to update. As regular visitors will know sometimes when I get caught up in things the website comes last but hopefully now when I am at work and get a release or see something interesting on the web I will be able to get it straight on here.

Nerds will realise that this is the default template for Joomla. But I don't really care, it suits the site well actually!

New things added to the site includes a forum, which you must become registered to use. Registration is easy, on the home page there is a log in form. Underneath that there is a link to register. Just put in your name, email and what you want your username to be and voila.

There are already great national forums around such as dragster.com.au but this one will aim to be a bit more local and hopefully a bit more personal to everyone.

If you become a registered user you will also be able to submit your own news to the website. Once you submit it, it will be cleared and put in the right format by me, then up on to the website. Great if your team is sending press releases or just wants to update on how your race event went. And of course submitting news to this website also means it may go in the "Drag Racing" column in The West Australia newspaper each Wednesday, so if you need to get some coverage for your sponsors, this is the way.

We are currently aware of some issues for people using the Mozilla browser. I have tested the site using it and it seems the PTS ad crosses over with the latest news and popular news boxes however it is nothing too dramatic. Given we are using a default template I am not sure how to change this, so if you are a PHP/Joomla nerd please let me know or else be good to Mr Gates and use Internet Explorer. :)

Anyhow I hope you enjoy the new site, should be a bit easier for me to manage now anyway!
