Tied championship leader Aaron Lynch made a stunning last session 5.64 pass to top qualify in Top Alcohol at Perth Motorplex tonight. NEW PICTURES and UPDATED WITH QUALIFYING LISTS.

Lynch had been out of the eight car field after two runs of tyre shake but using a 'soft' tune he stole top spot away from Brett Stevens who had held it all night with a 5.69.
The shock of qualifying was not that run however, but the non-qualification of fellow championship leader Wayne Newby.
His first runs shook the tyres, then he had something go amiss in the engine on his last one.
Local Aaron Deery stunned everyone with a 5.72 pass and some big speeds to qualify in third.
Another West Aussie in Mark Sheehan secured fourth with a 5.78, despite losing a blower belt.
Queensland's Steve Reed ran a shaking 5.80 for fifth but wife Debbie failed to make the field after a series of problems, culminating in a run that saw the car hook violently right and Debbie having to abort the run.
Ben Bray, Damien Harris and Gary Phillips made up the rest of the field, Phillips's 5.95 holding the bump.
Phillips's Lucas Oils car had a big moment when it grazed the wall just after the finish line and then went into the sand at the end of the track but fortunately there appeared to be no major damage.

In the Pro Stock Bikes it was Peter Cochrane showing the field how it was done with the S&S Buell recording a 7.22 at  massive 186mph to top qualify. The field that followed was Allen, Godeassi, Lee, Gilbertson and Weston, from second to fourth was very close. Godeassi was having some shifter problems in the second session but overcome them while Gilbertson and Allen couldn't improve in the last after their bikes failed to shift also.

Unfortunately Rob Gaikhorst's G/GA RX7 had a big crash in the braking area with the rear end appearing to get light as the chutes came out, turning the car hard right and into the wall. It was a very hard impact but Gaikhorst was out of the car straight away and fortunately unharmed.
Racing continues tomorrow!
