The Wongan Hills Drags will be taking place this Saturday at the Wongan airstrip.

The event has been growing well in its short history and about 40 cars and bikes are expected to take to the track.

The surface has also been improved for this year's event with RNR Contracting donating 230 metres worth of emulsion for the track.

Organiser Sean Box says it make getting high powered cars down the track a bit easier.

"The traction should be ten times better," he said.

Scrutineering will be on from 9am and racing will start at 10am.

Also included this year will be a Go to Whoa and Slalom contest.
