Fuchs Lubricants has announced its biggest ever sponsorship of Australian Drag Racing with the Fuchs logo to appear on four group one cars, representing one of largest financial investments in the category.

With ink still drying on contracts, Fuchs' Managing Director Wayne Hoiles revealed from the Melbourne Head Office that the lubricant company would support Lamattina Top Fuel Racing as naming rights sponsor, current Top Fuel Champs, Jim Read Racing as well and world record holder, John Zappia in Top Doorslammer.

"Fuchs has been a supporter of drag racing in some shape or form for many years but our greater involvement started three years ago.  Our decision to increase our exposure into the sport is a reflection on the returns we have received.  Drag racing has proved to be an excellent platform to promote our products to the automotive, mining, industrial and agricultural industries," said Mr Hoiles.

"We are delighted to have renewed our naming rights arrangement with the Lamattina Brothers.  This will be their third year running the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster and with the team finishing on a high last season by winning the Winternationals, we are looking for big things from them this year,"

"Jim Read Racing and Phil Read were instrumental last season in helping us develop the Fuchs Titan Nitro oil that is now seen as one of the best lubricants in the world for nitro-fuelled engines.  Of course with Phil [Read] winning the championship using our oil, we are also delighted continue our relationship with such a successful team.  We are very excited to have our brand on both the Jim Read Racing cars again this season," Mr Hoiles added.

"As for John Zappia, he has achieved some great accolades already in Top Doorslammer and with him expanding his operations, Fuchs were happy to jump on board for another year.  John is also from Perth and with Fuchs having one of our major plants in the West, he gets a lot of support from our operation over there."

The Lamattina's Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster has undergone a major livery change from last year, which is set to be unveiled next weekend at the East Cost Nationals being held at Western Sydney International Dragway (WSID).

According to Phil Lamattina, the team is chomping-at-the-bit to get the covers off and onto the track - "We have totally redesigned the Fuchs Dragster, our transporter and even the team's logo for this season.  It's not radical but it's fresh and clean and really showcases what our team is about."

Commenting on the continuation of the Fuchs sponsorship, Lamattina added - "To be totally honest, we are over the moon and humbled that Fuchs has the confidence in our ability to do the job properly for them.  Fuchs has been a great sponsor of drag racing and like any business they expect results, so now we have to go out and deliver on our promises."
