Wildest moment you've seen - 2008/07/24 16:41What's the wildest thing you've seen on a drag strip, besides Brendon Reardon in a leotard?
Gotta say Dobbo's big accident in the Green Machine was pretty wild...or Zap's quarter track wheelstand in the opening year of the Plex, or the the side by side Nitro FC fires at Ravo.Luke Nieuwhof wadragracing.com - West Australian Drag Racing Coverage since 2001

Re:Wildest moment you've seen - 2008/07/25 15:14One that could have been but did not happen. Is racing at a fast friday and being lined up to run on slicks and having the first two pairs of street bike come back down the return road soaking wet. I am glad they listened and stoped the racing. I would like to see people at the fast end reporting on track conditions when I am racing from now on.

Re:Wildest moment you've seen - 2008/07/25 18:49John Zappia, Grant Orourke (then driving a yellow torana) door handle to door handle literally. didn't touch cars, didn't touch the center line, but they were veeeeery close. Great phot somewhere, I think it is at Genie Exhaust.MAY YOUR ET'S BE LOW, YOUR MILE AN HOUR HIGH, AND MAY A RED LIGHT NEVER SHINE IN YOUR FACE.

Re:Wildest moment you've seen - 2008/07/26 09:59Stuart Rowlands wheel stand in the scorpion funny car with no wheely bars. Countless Zappia and Quartermaine 1500 foot qtr mile runs And the only reason I still have a VCR in the house is to watch the Zappia/ORouke run Richie mentioned
And as a young fella King Boogaloo was etched into the memory banks (V8 bike smokin the rear for a full qtr mile)

Re:Wildest moment you've seen - 2008/07/27 10:18have to echo mr blues. Phil Taylor's wild ride after redlighting in the 2007 westernats super stock final. Clipping simmo on his way through!
or was it Deb O'rourke who rolled the yellow tori 60ft out at ravenswood. maybe Terry Stacey's flip on the opening day of the 'Plex
but by far the wildest thing ive witnessed has to be the Lamattina chassis snap. was standing at half track and could only think the worst

Hey Turken
I've seen some pretty wild things at Ravo on the return road/main entry road while they were cleaning up oil downs.

Re:Wildest moment you've seen - 2008/08/03 00:21One off the top of my head at this hour. Vinci and Pilko's clash of paint in Top Comp at the final Ravenswood meet... Why on earth Vinci (who was already out of shape past the 660) got back on the loud pedal always makes me shake my head. I have video footage of it, and I can't help but crack up with laughter when I hear a ladies voice go "You Fu****inggggg idiot"

Hmmm, I have a video of someone else having a "similar" view of Grant O'Rourke having yet another off into the wall. Got to love the 'female voice of reasoning' eh? Dave Hunter, the video bloke... Click for my YouTube page.

Re:Wildest moment you've seen - 2008/08/04 01:29Too many to list really..........Dobbo springs to mind first in the Greene Machine, or maybe Cranky's last wild pass he did in it...or was it his crazy run at the Winters just gone against Martin...or maybe him in the old Allfast Commodore....but Zap has so many too, but I think the wildest moment I've seen was when Jay Upton raced John Zappia back at Ravo..........now I'd like to see THAT again at the 'Plex...Phil Blondel.
