FIL's Dirty Weekend Cruise - 2008/04/17 19:09
Well, it's coming to that time of the year when we look for other things to do on the weekend besides racing...
I'm going try to run another "Dirty Weekend Cruise" to Margaret River on the weekend of the 17th, 18th and 19th of May, and of course, racers are more than welcome...
My thinking this time round, is to try to make it as flexible as possible... If I can get enough people interested, there's no reason we have to all go do the same things at the same time, however, the opportunity would be there to either all cruise together around the region making stops along the way, or to meet up for meals at pre-arranged locations... (There are several great breweries that are open for lunch in the area, including the Bootleg, Colonial and Cowaramup breweries, and they all brew a decent drop and cook a decent meal)
Accommodation in Margaret River is usually pretty good, and varies from a $20 a night bunk in the dorms at the backpackers to some pretty expensive and luxury apartments if you so desire...
We've stayed at the backpackers and at 'The Station House' next door previously, and both are great budget options... (Backpackers have not just bunks, but also double rooms with communal toilet/shower facilities and almost fully self contained rooms as well (your own toilet, shower, bar fridge and basic cooking facilities but a shared kitchen and common room is also available))
