Soarer in Super Street - 2007/12/04 19:26 Goal: The Soarer in Super Street for the final two national opens of the season.

Its copping a Greddy intercooler (arriving January), M/T et radial tyres (whenever they arrive in Australia...popular items!) on Supra rims and an exhaust, I should probably fork out and get the zorst from turbos back, given the stock pipes out of the turbos are very restrictive. Also need a trans cooler fitted methinks as I will now be having to stall it up a bit.

Hoping for consistent high 12s. Other guys have run 12.5/12.6 with this sort of combo no worries. Should be fun!

Re:Soarer in Super Street - 2007/12/08 19:27 Would be nice to see another Japanese vehicle race in super street. If you do this luke let me know, I may come down and race the magna just for the novelty of having two japanese vehicles at a national meet in super street. Racing Performance Works & VP Racing Fuels WA for all of your local Drag Racing requirements.
Watch out for the Mitsubishi Galant coming out soon to play

Re:Soarer in Super Street - 2008/02/21 23:39 sweeeet....

i really should get the dumps re-done on the supra... but i'm tempted not to spend a cent on it and just put a 2jz in in about a years time...

Re:Soarer in Super Street - 2008/02/22 17:12 2J would rock
I haven't put on the dumps yet and not sure if I'll worry...I have them but they cost a bundle to install because of labour costs. Talking maybe 10-15hp for about $1000 in total...
Anyway it looks like I've got the day off work for Wednesday so I will see how just exhaust + M/Ts goes. I'm hoping just for a 12.999.

Re:Soarer in Super Street - 2008/02/22 17:46 cool.... problem with my dumps, is they were custom made by Ray Hall to go on his Lexus when he had my turbos in it... and when I put them on the Supra, I was that sh*t off with the thing already, that I just bashed them with a hammer to make them clear where they touched bits of my car, thinking 'i'll get them done properly later'

of course, it's now about 3 or 4 years later, and they still haven't been re-done... power output is good enough for 105mph (has run 105 on lower boost and ran 104.28 on a hot monday night last week while pinging pretty bad in 3rd...) - but i can't help but think it might go better with dumps that were built to fit the chassis...

Re:Soarer in Super Street - 2008/02/28 16:07 Well I got a 13.01 in yesterday's heat...so close enough to a 12! My first run was my fastest for the day.

Anyone got any ideas on how much the shifting of the beams would affect times on a run? I swear my hardest launch was later in the night and I couldn't get a sub 2.0 60ft time, despite an earlier 1.87 in the heat.

Re:Soarer in Super Street - 2008/03/05 16:20 Entered for March 15 Juggling everything should be fun...
Will run lower pressure in the tyres for better 60 foot times. Might also try and get those dump pipes done before then.
The intercooler may have arrived I believe...hopefully should be fitted up and re-tuned for the April event.
