Andra Championship Television Announces A Young Dynamic Television Talent!

ANDRA Championship Drag Racing Television has a fresh new face with Chad Neylon set to join the team for the 2008/2009 Season. Chad’s name is a familiar one to the ANDRA Drag Racing fans as he has worked for a number of years as a drag racing announcer around the country.
Neylon’s formal qualifications and experience were the determining factor in getting the nod for the role on the ANDRA TV Package. DRAG Ltd’s Tony Beuk was pleased with the appointment. “It was obvious to the DRAG Ltd Board that Chad was certainly a personality that we could utilize for our TV product. The selection process really crystallized our opinion and we are excited that we will have him on board for the 2008/2009 ANDRA Championship Season.”
Neylon himself was ecstatic with the decision, “It’s just amazing, and I can’t wait to get started! I have spent some significant time clocking up the hours of experience in front of the camera, presenting on the various big screens around Australia and now I get to do it for the Television audience!”
Although young in years, Neylon has a terrific amount of experience and background to make his mark in the Television arena. Tertiary education has included a Bachelor of Communications from which he graduated July 2007 at University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle, WA with a concentration on Media, TV & Radio, Film, Advertising and Marketing. He has also completed a Theatre Studies Major, also at University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle, WA.
Since completing his studies, Chad’s career included motorsport print and broadcast media, along with sports marketing.
During the 2007/2008 ANDRA Championship Season, Neylon built a terrific relationship with the Australian drag racing public, announcing at almost every ANDRA Group 1 event.
“It was a terrific experience” explained Chad, “Working under the guidance of Dean Neal, I developed my start line announcing ability, honing in on the finer points of conducting live interviews with crew chiefs, family members and the real stars of the show, the drivers themselves.”
He continues “Here, acting as a roving reporter, I gained valuable technical knowledge of the sport, watching and listening closely for any information the crowd and the announcers up in the box might have missed, while all the time being live on the Big Screen.”
“I have already worked with various camera operators that film ANDRA Championship Drag Racing TV, building a good working relationship with them.”
The first round of the 2008/2009 ANDRA Championship Season will be the 2008 Fuchs Australian Nationals held at Western Sydney International Dragway September 12-14, 2008 and it will feature every ANDRA Group 1 Category - Top Fuel, Top Doorslammer, Top Bike, Top Alcohol, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle.
